Safety & Care Q&A

What counts as 'normal use'?

We want you to get the most out of your Strong Bands – and keep them in top shape for years to come!

For safe, long‑lasting use:

  • soft or smooth surfaces such as carpet, gym flooring, exercise mats, indoor household flooring, or grass.
  • in your hands, or with gloves or smooth, rounded handles for comfort and to avoid wear.

Look after them, and they’ll look after you! 💪

What counts as neglect, misuse, or abuse – and would void my warranty?

We want your Strong Bands to be your workout buddies for years, so here’s what not to do. The following can cause damage and will void your warranty:

  • Over‑stretching beyond 2.5× their original length.
  • Using bands on rough or sharp surfaces like concrete or gravel.
  • Skipping regular cleaning – aim for at least once a month. AT LEAST 👀
  • Sunbathing your bands 🌞 (leaving them in direct sunlight when not in use).

    Temperature extremes for storage:
  • Too cold: below 10 °C
  • Too hot: above 30 °C

    Best storage temp: between 15 °C and 25 °C

Follow the care guidelines, and your bands will keep showing up for you 💪

How do I know if my Strong Band is unsafe to use?

Safety first – if your band shows any of these warning signs, stop using it straight away:

  • Deep cracks that go beyond the surface layer.
  • Tears or cuts all the way through the material.
  • Cracks that get bigger with use.
  • Cracks at fold points or other high‑tension areas.
  • Multiple cracks in the same spot, making a weak zone.
  • Any crack that causes the band to visibly separate when stretched.

These issues mean your band’s structure is compromised and could snap unexpectedly — and we don’t want that anywhere near your workout.

💌 If you spot any of these within 12 months of normal home use, email us at hello@thestrongband.com with a photo, and we’ll replace your Strong Band for free.

What kinds of marks or scratches are normal and safe on my Strong Bands

A few small marks are completely normal and don’t affect how your bands work or how safe they are.

You might notice:

  • Light surface scratches or tiny scuffs.
  • Slight discoloration or faint lines.
  • Minor marks that don’t go deep into the material.
  • Superficial blemishes that don’t change elasticity or strength.

These are purely cosmetic and won’t get worse with normal use. Think of them like the little freckles on skin – part of the band’s character, and nothing to worry about.

How do I clean my Strong Band? And how often should I clean it?

Aim to clean your Strong Bands weekly if you use them daily – or more often if you use them outdoors.

To clean, wipe with a clean, soft damp cloth and mild soapy water, then rinse of any excess soap and air‑dry out of direct sunlight. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the latex.
